Intel 8th Generation “Coffee Lake” Processors Launched

Awesome news for the Intel users, Intel is now switching down to the 8th Generation processors in the Mainstream “Coffee Lake” series. Intel 8th Generation “Coffee Lake” processors will be launched on the 4th Quarter of the 2017 which means from October to December 2017. The Actual date is 5 October 2017

In the i7 processors Intel will be launching i7-8650U, i7-8550U, i7-8700, i7-8700K. There are also new 8th generation processors in the i3 and i5 series. There are no 8th Generation processors in the i9 series.

Mainstream series includes the (i3, i5, i7, i9) processors. Till now we have seen the 7th Generation Processors in every series of Mainstream. In the 7th Generation of i3 processors we have only two physical cores means a dual core processor, i5 is limited to only 4 cores that is it is a quad core processors, i7 processor are available up to 8 cores that means an octa core processor and the latest i9 processor is a deca core processor that is 10 core processor.

Intel has increased the performance at very much extreme level and they had just increased the cores of the mainstream processors, increased the cache and the clock frequency. The lithography of the processors has not been decreased that is it has been kept 14 nm the same only.

In the i3 processors series the dual core processors are developed into Quadcore processors physically that is two extra cores are added to the i3 processors. Following are the new 8th generation i3 processors:

  • i3-8100 has 4 cores/4 threads with base frequency of 3.6 GHz, 6 MB Cache and TDP of 65 Watt
  • i3-8350K has 4 cores/4 threads with base frequency of 4.0 GHz, 8 MB Cache and TDP of 91 Watt

In the i5 processors series the Quad core processors are converted into Hexacore processors physically that is two extra cores are added to the i5 processors. Following are the new 8th generation i5 processors:

  • i5-8400 has 6 cores/6 threads with base frequency of 2.8 GHz & Turbo Frequency of 4.0 GHz, 9 MB Cache and TDP of 65 Watt.
  • i5-8600K has 6 cores/6 threads with base frequency of 3.6 GHz& Turbo Frequency of 4.3 GHz, 9 MB Cache and TDP of 95 Watt.

In the i7 processors series the Quad core processors are converted into Hexacore processors physically that is two extra cores are added to the i7 processors. Difference is that it has extra threads as compared to i5 processors Following are the new 8th generation i7 processors:

  • i7-8700 has 6 cores/12 threads with base frequency of 3.2 GHz & Turbo Frequency of 4.7 GHz, 12 MB Cache and TDP of 65 Watt.
  • i7-8700K has 6 cores/12 threads with base frequency of 3.8 GHz & Turbo Frequency of 4.6 GHz, 12 MB Cache and TDP of 95 Watt.
